Dawn House and Ardenleigh Hospital Women's Senior Occupational Therapist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, compassionate Registered, Qualified Occupational Therapist to lead and be part of the delivery of this discharge pathway pilot. You will work with a team of professionals to develop a community forensic step-down accommodation for women being discharged from secure care.
The Pilot aims to extend the inpatient treatment model (the SCALE model within the Women's Secure Blended Service (WSBS)) into a community residential setting, to promote recovery beyond discharge and reduce the need for future admission. The project has funding for a 2-year period.
The OT service is a well-resourced department that provides occupational therapy treatment to support women with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs to move successfully though their care pathway following on from being discharged from secure care into a community placement.
To support the leadership of a need led service designing and delivering therapeutic programmes in response to service user need which is evidenced based and outcome measured.
To provide leadership within the OT and STR team and service to support wider multi professional teams in service delivery & development and high-quality care.
To contribute to meeting professional, local and service wide standards.
Participate in annual development reviews and reflective practice opportunities.
To deliver care to service users in the right place at the right time, providing gender sensitive, trauma informed care in the least restrictive environment.
To empower and support service users to manage their needs, acquire skills and confidence in independent living and move towards a sustainable discharge from inpatient care, through providing enhanced opportunities for rehabilitation and community integration.
