Are you passionate about supporting deaf and hearing-impaired students to achieve their full potential? We are seeking a flexible and dedicated

Bank Communication Support Worker

to join our inclusive and supportive college environment.


In this rewarding role you'll provide one-to-one and group communication support using students' preferred modes of communication across the full college curriculum. You'll play a vital role in helping students access learning, take accurate notes on their behalf and support their social integration and wellbeing. This BANK role will cover Day time and Evening courses. Variable hours and Days needed.


Your work will involve close collaboration with tutors to ensure accurate communication of course content and participation in staff training to raise awareness of deaf and hearing-impaired learners' needs. You'll also act as an advocate for students, promote communication skill development and assist with administrative tasks related to additional learning support.

Is This You?



CACDP BSL Stage 3, or above (Essential) A high standard of written English, for example GCSE English Language Grade A-C or equivalent (Essential) Experience and knowledge of deaf people and deaf culture (Essential) Ability to present concepts and information clearly and appropriately to meet the needs of individual learners (Essential) Commitment to a student-centred approach (Essential) Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision (Essential) Experience of supporting deaf students within a college environment (Desirable) Lip speaking skills (Desirable) Ability, under supervision, to assist in the preparation of materials, to facilitate a learner's understanding (Desirable)
