We're looking for days and nights staff to work bank shifts with us.

Pay

: We have an excellent pay rate of 23.50 an hour.

Contract

: We can offer you either days or nights on a zero hour bank contract.

Shift patterns:



7am to 7pm 7pam to 7am

Who are we?



Welcome to Highfield House - our nursing and care home located in the beautiful coastal town of Whitehaven. Our highly qualified, experienced and compassionate team are ready and waiting to welcome you to the newest addition to the Kirklands family.

As soon as you arrive at Highfield House, you'll receive the warmest of welcomes. As the first facility in the Kirklands care group to also offer nursing care, you'll quickly become part of a wonderful family of residents, and staff who can provide the support you need to live comfortably and in dignity with us.

Highfield House provides residential care for up to 67 people of mixed physical and cognitive ability, as well as nursing care for a range of needs, including Dementia, Parkinson's disease and mental health issues.

We value our staff and will always seek to provide a happy work place. We know our jobs can get tough and together we will support each other through. We offer and support regular training and opportunity to develop and grow within the role.

Our ideal candidate:



Proactive person who can use your own decision making skills. Valid

NMC registration

as a Registered Nurse Previous experience working in a

care home

, nursing home, or similar elderly care setting is highly desirable. Strong

clinical assessment and decision-making skills

. Experience with

medication administration

and management in accordance with professional guidelines. Familiarity with

care planning and documentation

, including electronic care systems (e.g. Person Centred Software - PCS). Confidence in

managing a team of care staff

, delegating tasks, and leading by example. A solid understanding of

safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety regulations

in a care setting. Experience in supporting individuals with

dementia

, complex health conditions, or palliative care needs. Ability to

work independently

and adapt quickly to new environments or shifts. Excellent

communication and interpersonal skills

with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities:



Providing high standards of clinical care

to residents in accordance with individual care plans.

Administering medication safely and accurately

, following best practices and company policies.

Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care needs

in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Monitoring residents' health and well-being

, responding to changes in condition and taking appropriate action.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records

, including care plans, medication charts, and incident reports.

Liaising with families, GPs, and other healthcare professionals

to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.

Supporting and supervising care staff

, offering guidance and ensuring care delivery meets clinical standards.

Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

, including health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding.

Promoting dignity, independence, and the rights of residents

at all times.

Adapting to varying shifts and working patterns

, providing flexible support when the home requires it
