in our residential children's home in Romford, you'll provide vital overnight care and reassurance to young people, helping them feel safe, secure, and supported throughout the night.

Your Role
As a
Waking Night Support Worker
, you will:
Provide consistent, personalised care throughout the night
Support personal care and daily living tasks as needed
Maintain a calm, safe, and nurturing home environment
Monitor wellbeing and behaviour, reporting any concerns promptly
Communicate effectively with the daytime team to ensure joined-up care
Keep clear and accurate records of overnight activities and observations
Respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies
Contribute to care plans and follow behaviour support strategies
What You'll Bring
Essential:
Experience supporting children or young people (residential care, fostering, education, or similar)
Strong communication skills and ability to build trust and positive relationships
Empathy, resilience, patience, and a genuine passion for making a difference
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Flexibility to work waking night shifts, including weekends
Team player with a proactive, caring approach
Desirable:
NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Workforce
First Aid training
Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviours
Full UK driving licence
