Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen at our flagship Union Terrace venue: SugarBird In The Gardens and we are seeking an experienced and professional Bar Manager to oversee our daily bar operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess a great love of wine, demonstrable leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to train and manage a team effectively. This role is essential in delivering the licensing objectives and licensing parameters within the operation plan, the highest standards of food safety and quality and also in fostering a positive company culture for both the team and guests.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and manage the bar team, providing mentorship, guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Oversee the preparation and serving of all products, ensuring adherence to recipes, service procedures and presentation standards.
Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering welcoming hospitality service and addressing any issues promptly.
Supervise daily bar operations, including stock ordering and management, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and reporting any maintenance issues.
Liaise with the management team on on site and off site event operations
Nimbly adapt to change effectively and smoothly
Communicate with kitchen team to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Implement and enforce food safety regulations and best practices within the venue.
Train new staff on wine service etiquette, sales techniques, customer service skills, and health & safety protocols. Record all training in personal folders
Develop menus that align with current trends while considering customer preferences.
Report to the management team and owners regularly
