Bar Manager

to help us set up the bar from scratch and to drive our success, working closely with both the General Manager and the Director of Sport. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant, exciting new venue.

The Role:

As Bar Manager at Maxi Lounge, you will lead the day-to-day operation of the bar and lounge areas, ensuring outstanding service, team leadership, and smooth execution of all hospitality functions. You'll be responsible for creating a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and will work closely with senior management to deliver a first-class guest experience across all shifts. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional to shape the bar operation within a premium venue.

Key Responsibilities:

Take full ownership of bar operations, including initial set up, stock control, supplier relations, licensing compliance, and service standards. Lead and manage the bar team, including training, onboarding, rota planning, and performance development. Ensure every shift runs smoothly and efficiently, delivering consistent, high-quality service and presentation. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety, and food & beverage hygiene compliance. Work closely with the General Manager on pricing strategies, stock reporting, and budget control. Champion customer service and hospitality, acting as a role model for the team. Oversee day-to-day maintenance, bar setup, and equipment checks. Support the planning and delivery of events, private bookings, and promotional activity. Handle customer feedback professionally, responding quickly and effectively to resolve any issues.

About You:

Proven experience as a bar manager in a busy, high-quality venue. Strong leadership qualities with a positive, proactive, and team-focused mindset. Confident working under pressure and able to manage multiple priorities. Strong understanding of licensing laws, stock management, and hospitality compliance. Natural communicator with excellent people management and customer service skills. Organised and dependable, with a keen eye for detail and quality standards. Passionate about hospitality, with an interest in sports bars and social venues. Personal licence holder (preferred, but not essential).
