Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee our bar operations and lead our team in delivering exceptional service. This role will be working with the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in bartending and hospitality, with a passion for creating memorable experiences for our guests. As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining the highest levels of service quality.

Duties



Supervise and manage bar staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Recruitment and dismissal of all bar and cleaning staff with support of the Board. Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages, ensuring adherence to quality standards. Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain stock. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development. Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and effectively to ensure guest satisfaction. Ensuring any and all complaints are escalated to the Board. Opening and Closing of the club for the hours trade decided by the Board within the licensing department of the local council, ensuring the building is secured. Where the bar manager is not required to be working you should ensure suitable cover for this, ensuring the cover is trained on securing the premises. Adhere to all Health and Safety practices to ensure safe operation of the club. Highlight any and all issues relating to the maintenance of the building to the Board. Recruitment and dismissal of all bar and cleaning staff with support of the Board. Manage levels of staff in accordance with the levels of the business. Bar and cleaning staff holiday hours to be recorded and suitable cover to be arranged. Processing staff wages through Sage and paying via bank transfer. Ensuring staff pension data is up to date via Nest. Taking in and checking all deliveries of stock for the club, ensuring all stock is properly secured. Liaise with the external stocktake for regular stocktakes. Ensure the beer lines are cleaned at least once every 7 days. Take bookings for functions and events and arrange staff accordingly. Cashing up the daily takings and printing the till reconciliations daily. Complete banking duties required for the running of the club. Attend weekly gaming machine counts. Attend fortnightly Committee meetings when requested to do so by the Board. Assist in taking membership applications and processing members and payments.

Qualifications



Proven experience in bartending and bar management within a hospitality or hotel setting. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for the culinary arts and an understanding of beverage trends within the industry. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
