Guildford Rugby Club is a proud community-focused club with a rich sporting history and a welcoming social atmosphere. Our clubhouse bar is the heart of the club, serving members, players, families, and fans throughout the week and on match days. We're looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Bar Manager to lead our bar operations and contribute to our growing club culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day running of the clubhouse bar Lead and supervise bar staff, including recruitment, training, and scheduling Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships Ensure the bar is clean, well-presented, and compliant with health & safety and licensing laws Coordinate bar service during match days, club events, and private functions Maintain cash handling procedures and reconcile till reports Engage positively with members, guests, and visiting teams to provide a friendly and professional service Contribute ideas for improving bar offerings and generating revenue

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience managing or supervising a bar (sports club environment a plus) Personal alcohol licence (or willingness to obtain one) Excellent organisational and leadership skills Confidence in managing staff and dealing with high-volume service during peak periods A positive, community-oriented attitude with great interpersonal skills Availability to work evenings, weekends, and match/event days
