Are you a passionate and experienced bar professional with a love for wine? We're seeking a dynamic

Bar Manager

to lead our team and elevate the guest experience at our bustling wine bar just outside Derby.

You'll be responsible for all aspects of bar operations, from curating our extensive wine list, cocktails and our daytime coffee & food offering. Supporting to managing stock and inventory, plus training and inspiring our dedicated staff. If you have a keen eye for detail, exceptional customer service skills, and a proven track record in a fast-paced hospitality environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:



Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction. Leading by example to maximise the overall experience is at the heart of this role - through your leadership, our aim is to have a highly skilled & motivated team that in turn, offers our guests a unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience every time. Working closely with the Director, Kitchen Manager and our Hospitality & Retail staff to ensure that all of our guests receive excellent food & drink, quality & efficient service standards and in a warm & friendly environment. Leading on the learning & development across your bar team to better enhance the guest experience and team job satisfaction. Conducting monthly team meetings, 121s and personal development reviews, focussing on our team is a priority to ensure they are well supported and motivated in their roles. You will also lead on managing the staff rota and staffing levels. Managing all areas of the bar including stock control, purchasing and ordering of food and drink, waste & margin control whilst ensuring adherence to our policies and procedures. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance, at all times. Knowledge of HACCP and previously supporting with EHO inspections is desirable. Contribute to menu development and promotions. We are a unique venue offering a unique customer experience - a passion to support this ethos and grow the business is a must! Who are we looking for?



Someone with a proven track record in hospitality - with a passion to positively deliver exceptional customer service at all times. Previous experience in a bar manager role, who enjoys working in a high volume, fast paced environment. Someone who shares our passion and enthusiasm in wine, perhaps a budding Sommelier, an interest to learn about wine is a must! Support will be given to learn and undertake WSET Wine Qualifications. A good team player, who strives for perfection and can lead the team to achieve this with every customer interaction. Somebody with a flexible approach to work, this isn't a typical 9-5 role, and both evening and weekend work will be required. A full driving licence and vehicle is required due to undertaking deliveries and the rural location of our premises.

Experience



Previous experience in a supervisory role within bars and restaurants and/or hotel setting is essential. Proven background in food production and preparation. Proven experience in bartending and managing bar operations. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is crucial. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective interaction with staff and customers. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Up to full time hours are available - predominately covering Wednesday to Sunday.

Pay: 15.00-17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
