Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and customer-focused Bar and Food Service Person to join our team at Shirehampton Park Golf Club. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to our members and guests by not only managing the bar but also taking food orders and ensuring an overall positive dining experience. This position involves preparing and serving beverages, handling transactions, taking food orders, and maintaining a clean and organized bar and dining area.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

Greet and serve members and guests in a friendly and professional manner. Take drink and food orders, provide recommendations, and ensure timely service. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
2.

Beverage and Food Preparation:

Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely food preparation. Ensure proper presentation of both drinks and food items.
3.

Order Taking:

Effectively take and input food orders from customers. Ensure accuracy in order details and promptly communicate orders to the kitchen. Verify special dietary requirements and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
4.

Cash Handling:

Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately. Process payments for both drinks and food, provide change, and maintain an organized cash drawer. Adhere to all cash-handling procedures and policies.
5.

Cleanliness and Organization:

Keep the bar and dining areas clean and organized at all times. Wash glassware, utensils, and ensure proper storage. Monitor and replenish bar and dining supplies as needed.
6.

Compliance:

Adhere to all relevant licensing regulations and guidelines. Verify the age of customers before serving alcoholic beverages. Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other bar and kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks and provide support as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a bar or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Knowledge of beverage and food preparation and presentation. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
