Bacchus Late Bar is one of Kingston upon Thames' longest running late bars and is a venue that prides itself on being a lifeline for many who prefer the alternative night out. The venue attracts an exciting and friendly crowd with regular DJs playing the sounds of Alternative, Rock, Hip-Hop, House, Disco, and Cheese - spread over a unique 14-day calendar, and spinning records 7 days a week, 363 days a year!

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a vital member of our bar staff team, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our patrons. Your primary responsibilities will include serving drinks, engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organised bar area, and upholding high standards of customer service. By delivering efficient service and fostering a friendly atmosphere, you will contribute to the overall success and reputation of the business.

All staff should be aware of and follow company policies and procedures at all times, with particular attention to health and safety, licensing, and equality and diversity. To further your development and knowledge you will be expected to attend training as necessary.

Our usual hours of operation are between 22:00 - 04:00, please only apply if you are able to commit to late night hours.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Providing excellent customer service to all patrons of the venue. Serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Preparing and serving cocktails and other drinks. Operating point-of-sale systems and handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the bar area. Checking identification and enforcing age restrictions for alcohol service. Assisting in maintaining stock levels, restocking, and replenishing supplies as needed. Participating in regular training sessions to improve service quality, product knowledge, and industry awareness. Actively engaging with company social media and promotional strategies, including but not limited to engaging with posts, and sharing of live events and promotions. Adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements related to alcohol service, health and safety, and licensing laws. Other reasonable duties as required by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience in a bar service environment is preferred, but not essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Good numerical and cash-handling skills. Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to providing an excellent customer experience. Willingness to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends, and public holidays. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is desirable. Completion of relevant training programs or certifications in alcohol service is desirable.
