Job Summary:
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bar, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff, and maintaining a well-stocked and clean bar environment. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Team Management:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of bar staff, including bartenders, bar backs, and cocktail servers.
Train and mentor new bar staff members on drink preparation, customer service, and bar procedures.
Provide feedback to bar staff.
Motivate and encourage the team to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional service.
Handle staff issues and resolve conflicts effectively.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure that all drinks are prepared according to standards and presented attractively.
Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the bar area.
Build rapport with regular customers and foster a sense of community.
Bar Operations:
Oversee the opening and closing procedures of the bar
Ensure the bar is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
Monitor stock levels and place orders for supplies as needed.
Maintain bar equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service.
Implement and enforce company policies and procedures.
Sales and Revenue:
Drive sales through upselling and promoting special offers.
Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
Control costs by minimizing waste and ensuring efficient stock management.
Contribute to the development of new drink menus and promotions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Bar Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures.
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification (or equivalent).
