Job Description

This role is for a Business Analyst working in the Barclaycard Payment Services Architectural Design team. The team is made by a mix of Solution Architects and Business Analysts, who are directly accountable for the analysis, creation, review and acceptance of software and infrastructure designs. This role will mean you will deal with people in our Business Unit, and in multiple other areas of the wider Barclays group. As such we want a person who is a motivated self starter, someone who can support other members of the team, as and when needed, through the design process, who will be able to influence and negotiate with other teams, gather information from various sources and then clearly and simply present complex information to a wide array of stakeholders. Please be aware we are a PCI-DSS compliant service, and that though we know not all have worked in this area it would be an advantage.


To be successful in this role, you should:

Be able to capture and understand functional and non-functional requirements, and traceability of asks through A&D process. Be able to provide an effective planning and gap analysis, as well as possessing stakeholder management skills. Have experience within a financial services institution.

Additional skills include:

Understanding differing delivery models - Agile, Kanban and Standups. C4 diagramming and other forms of visual presentation used in A&D process. An understanding of electronic payments, both customer present and not present.

This role can be based in either Fleet or Northampton.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities.

Accountabilities

Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation. Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities. Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations. Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions. Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions. Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget. Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope. Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
