Job Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista/Front Of House to join our small, hard working team. Working front of house, you will be the customer's first impression of our cafe, responsible for crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service. Your role will involve not only preparing drinks but also ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our customers and serving cakes from the front counter.

Our business has a reputation for excellent customer service and our approach encourages regular repeat visits. Overall we have a wide demographic of customers who may be visiting us for a number of reasons; therefore our approach to them needs to be flexible to accommodate different demands and timescales.

The role works well for one person to take on full-time hours each week. Some weekend hours will be essential. Alternatively, we may consider splitting hours over the week/weekend to accommodate those looking for additional work to top-up income. We are a family and dog-friendly cafe and we are happy to accommodate school hours in our team.

Skills



Enjoys working with the public; Being friendly to customers, patient and understanding with the ability to engage and make customers feel welcome and comfortable; Previous barista and front of house experience is highly desirable; Physical fitness is essential due to working on your feet, moving quickly over a large area and lifting stock; Familiarity with IT systems for retail and card payments is desirable; Ability to integrate into a team environment and work well with others to share responsiblities.

Responsibilities



Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks; Cut and serve cakes, arrange the cake counter and take pride in making our range of home made cakes inviting and tempting for customers; A thorough knowledge of allergens, dietary needs and preferences and be able to advise customers on what items we have available for them to dine safely; Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front counter, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards; Engage with customers to take orders and provide exceptional service; Operate coffee machines and other equipment safely and efficiently; Manage inventory levels of supplies and communicate needs to management; Demonstrate excellent efficient working methods to ensure prompt service during peak hours; Monitor and manage retail stock, presentation and display.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.50-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 35 per week

We are based in the village of Errol that is served by a public bus service; however, the ability to drive is preferred to ensure reliability of shift attendance. Please confirm if you have a driving licence. We are a fully licensed premises and you must be over the age of 18
