Basketball Camp Chaperone
to support our international participants at the Worcester-Valencia Basketball Camp at the University of Worcester on Saturday 16th August 2025.
About the Role
As a Basketball Camp Chaperone, you will play a key role in welcoming international participants and coaches upon their arrival in the UK and ensuring their safety and well-being as they travel by coach, accompanied by you from the airport back to the University of Worcester on
Saturday 16
th
August 2025 (UK airport to be confirmed).
Your responsibilities will include:
Meeting and greeting participants and coaches at the UK airport.
Distributing packed lunches upon arrival.
Building a positive and professional rapport with campers and staff.
Providing caring and supportive supervision for camp participants (under 18s).
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Liaising with the Camp Director to report any concerns or safeguarding issues.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking reliable, responsible, and team-oriented individuals who can provide excellent pastoral care to young people in a camp setting. To be considered for this role, you must have:
An enhanced DBS certificate
(or willingness to obtain one before the camp).
A valid first aid certificate.
Experience working with young people.
Strong communication skills
and the ability to build positive relationships.
Awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures.
A reliable, trustworthy, and proactive approach to work.
The ability to work well as part of a team and use initiative when needed.
Desirable:
Experience in conflict resolution.

This role involves working with individuals under 18 years old. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal Records Check / Barred List Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
