Job Description

Are you a dedicated Sports Therapist looking for an exciting opportunity to support young athletes? We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team, providing essential medical support and welfare services at Worcester - Valencia Basketball Camp at the University of Worcester from Sunday 17th August to Friday 22nd August 2025.

About the Role




As a Sports Therapist, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and well-being of camp participants by assessing injuries, providing first aid, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will work closely with the Camp Director and coaching staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all attendees. Accommodation and meals are provided to staff for the duration of the camp.

Key Responsibilities



Provide medical support and welfare relevant to your role. Assess injuries as they occur and provide first aid when required. Keep accurate records of participants treated or given medical advice. Share medical records with the Camp Director daily or as necessary. Ensure coaching staff are aware of any participants unable to take part due to injury or illness. Collaborate and liaise with the Camp Director to ensure effective care and communication. Maintain personal and professional development through ongoing training. Promote an inclusive environment that supports diversity and equality. Adhere to health, safety, and safeguarding protocols at all times.

Essential Requirements



BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy degree. Membership and insurance with the Society of Sports Therapists. Hold a current Enhanced DBS certificate or ability to complete a DBS check successfully ahead of the camp. Hold a valid first aid qualification. Strong commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding. Excellent communication skills - polite, courteous, and personable. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements



Knowledge and understanding of working with young people in a sport setting. Previous experience of working in sport. Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.

Additional Information




This role involves working with individuals under 18 years old. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal Records Check / Barred List Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
