The School of Sport and Exercise Science is seeking a committed and motivated individual to support a residential Worcester - Valencia Basketball camp (residential) as
Overnight Student Support
. The successful candidate will be the main point of call for any student issues between the hours of 11pm - 7am on the nights of Sunday 17th August to Friday 22nd August (8 hour shifts over 5 nights).
About the Role
As part of the overnight support team, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residential campers. Accommodation and meals are provided to staff for the duration of the camp.
Your responsibilities will include:
Remaining
awake and on call
from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM each night.
Ensuring all
residential campers are in their correct accommodation
at bedtime.
Providing
caring and supportive supervision
to camp participants (under 18s).
Building a
positive and professional rapport
with campers and staff.
Having access to the
camp medical register
at all times.
Reporting
any safeguarding concerns or incidents
immediately to the Camp Director.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking responsible, reliable, and proactive individuals who can ensure a safe and positive overnight experience for young people. To be considered for this role, you must have:
An enhanced DBS certificate
(or willingness to obtain one before the camp).
A valid first aid certificate.
Experience working with young people.
Strong communication skills
and the ability to build positive relationships.
A responsible and caring approach
, with the ability to handle overnight supervision.
Awareness of safeguarding policies and procedures.
A reliable, trustworthy, and team-oriented mindset.
Desirable:
Experience in conflict resolution.
