We are working with a welcoming primary school in Bexleyheath that is seeking a highly experienced Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in primary education who can provide targeted behavioural support, model positive strategies, and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
This is a hands-on, impactful role suited to a skilled professional who is resilient, proactive, and committed to helping children develop self-regulation, confidence, and positive attitudes to learning.

Your Role
Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour mentoring for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
Lead and implement behaviour support and intervention plans in line with school policies.
Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and social skills.
Use de-escalation and restorative approaches to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
Work closely with class teachers to ensure consistent behaviour strategies across the school day.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement, confidence, and positive choices.
Monitor, record, and review pupil progress, contributing to meetings and behaviour reviews.
Act as a positive role model within the school, promoting high expectations and inclusive practice.
What We're Looking For
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grades 4-9).
Significant experience working as a Behaviour Mentor or in a similar role within a primary school setting.
Proven experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural challenges, and additional needs.
Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies, de-escalation techniques, and restorative practices.
A calm, consistent, and authoritative approach grounded in empathy and patience.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and families.
A genuine passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for children.
