Job Summary:



Norso Medical is seeking a highly skilled Bench Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing medical equipment within a workshop environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that all equipment is restored to the highest industry and company standards, including accuracy in diagnostic testing, repair, calibration, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Bench Engineer will report directly to the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:



Repair and test medical devices in compliance with relevant guidelines, procedures, and specifications. Ensure all equipment is brought back into service promptly to minimize downtime for customers. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex technical issues in medical equipment, adhering to manufacturer requirements and promoting the use of genuine parts and consumables. Manage detailed records of all equipment received for repair, including documenting faults and repair instructions. Communicate accurately and timely with team members, including field engineers and customers, to ensure correct diagnosis, repair, and shipment of equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of medical devices and systems as required, in compliance with relevant guidelines and industry standards. Maintain the workshop and testing areas in a clean and safe manner, ensuring all equipment is in good functional condition. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding workshop management, Quality Management System, and Health and Safety regulations.

Key Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field, or 3+ years of experience in repairing electronic devices, preferably medical equipment. Good knowledge of the medical equipment industry, including the product range of major manufacturers. Excellent understanding of electronic and electromechanical principles, as well as efficient problem-solving techniques. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to the maintenance, installation, and operation of medical equipment. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when documenting faults and repair instructions. Strong ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and multitask. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer orientation and teamwork. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with electronic workshop systems. Availability for occasional travel to customer sites.
