Experienced Bench Joiner - Timber Sash Windows

Victorian Sash Windows Ltd are seeking an

experienced Bench Joiner

to join our established workshop team in Camberwell, South London. This is a long-term opportunity for the right candidate, working on traditional

timber box sash windows and doors

to a high standard of finish.

Please only apply if fully competent and have prior relevant experience manufacturing Timber Box Sash Windows from Sawn Timber Stock.

The Role

Start-to-finish

manufacture and assembly

of timber box sash windows and doors (joinery only)

Bench joinery, dry fitting locks / hinges, and hand finishing for 1st Primer.

Confident use of

planer thicknesser

and

spindle moulders

Reading and interpreting drawings and sizes accurately

Competency / Skill producing an average of

4-5 complete box sash windows per week

(joinery only)

Perform heavy lifting of materials safely and efficiently to facilitate smooth workflow.

Assist with construction painting, masonry work, plumbing, electrical tasks, and roofing as required.

Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects.

Conduct quality checks on completed work to meet client specifications and industry standards.

Spray finishing and glazing are carried out by our finishing department.

Requirements

Proven experience as a

bench joiner

in traditional sash window manufacture

High attention to detail and consistently good standard of finish

Reliable, hardworking, and well organised

Must be Punctual.

Good communication skills

Comfortable working

self-employed

on a price / price-list basis

Own

personal hand tools

(e.g. cordless tools). All machinery and larger tools provided

Familiarity with workshop-based production environments

Ability to work in a team and independently.

Ability to work to deadlines and meet targets.

Pay & Terms

Self-Employed Sub-Contractor basis

Paid

on price

(price list shared upon enquiry) Negotiable.

Equivalent to 45,000 gross per year achievable

, subject to competency and output

Some employees have managed to earn considerably more than this on the same pay system.

Additional agreed tasks outside normal joinery operations:

o

Agreed daily rate for tasks outside normal joinery operation / Maintenance etc / Running up days. 190 gross per day

/

23.75 per hour

CIS paid

- CIS Certificates provided.
