, we are currently

seeking a Bespoke Furniture Designer

to join our close-knit and skilled team. This role is integral to our creative and production process - from initial client concept through to final technical workshop drawings.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on, client-facing design role requiring strong conceptual, technical, and communication skills. You will be responsible for creating bespoke furniture designs and producing detailed drawings for our in-house workshop team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of materials, joinery, and manufacturing processes and be confident liaising with clients, suppliers, and makers throughout the project duration.

While we currently use SketchUp for 3D modelling and design, we are open to adopting new software depending on the candidate's strengths and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate directly with clients to understand their design vision, spatial requirements, and aesthetic preferences Create original, tailor-made furniture designs from concept to production Produce high-quality sketches, 3D models, and detailed technical drawings for workshop use Work closely with the workshop team to ensure designs are practical, well-constructed, and accurately executed Attend site visits for measurements, fittings, and installations as needed Source materials and hardware in alignment with project requirements Contribute to internal design reviews and innovation in techniques, materials, and styles Stay up-to-date with current design trends, joinery innovations, and sustainability best practices
About You

Proven experience in furniture design or a closely related field Strong portfolio demonstrating bespoke or custom-made furniture work Proficiency in SketchUp (or similar CAD software) with an openness to using or learning other platforms. Solid understanding of furniture construction, materials, and joinery Strong eye for design detail and craftsmanship Confident communicator, able to present ideas clearly to both clients and makers Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small, highly skilled team Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously from concept to completion
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 35,000.00-38,000.00 per year
