The Role
We're looking for a
Furniture Designer
with a keen eye for aesthetics, strong technical understanding, and a passion for creating functional, beautiful pieces. You'll be involved from concept through to production, collaborating closely with clients, architects, and in-house teams.
This role is ideal for someone who's design-driven but also practical--able to turn great ideas into well-made, cost-effective, and production-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed designs for bespoke and production furniture pieces
Translate concepts into technical CAD drawings and 3D models
Collaborate with manufacturing and joinery teams to ensure design feasibility
Assist in material selection, cost estimation, and production documentation
Liaise with project managers and clients to interpret briefs and incorporate feedback
Maintain design standards and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Contribute to the development of seasonal or client-specific collections
What You'll Bring
Qualifications:
Degree in Furniture Design, Product Design, or a related field
Software Skills:
Proficient in SolidWorks or Fusion 360
Experience with Alphacam, ArtCAM, or Vitrics (advantageous)
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of furniture construction, joinery, and materials
Ability to create clear and accurate production drawings
Knowledge of timber, metal, and upholstery techniques
Soft Skills:
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
