We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bid Manager / Contract Specialist to lead and support the preparation, submission, and negotiation of both simple and complex bids and contracts in the nuclear waste management sector. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of public and private sector procurement processes, contract law, and risk management, with a focus on delivering value and compliance in a highly technical and regulated environment.



What you'll be doing:






Project Delivery & Bids



Lead planning, execution, and submission of bids and proposals, including NEC3/4 contracts. Oversee project changes, ensuring compliance with contract procedures.

Contract & Compliance



Act as key contact for stakeholders on contract management, variations, and bids. Ensure legal/regulatory compliance and conduct audits against contractual obligations. Track bid conversion and report internally.

Financial Oversight



Monitor project costs vs budget to support pricing strategies.

Collaboration & Best Practice



Drive cross-functional teamwork through bid/proposal development. Support colleagues in applying contract management standards.

Client Engagement



Build and sustain strong client relationships, aligning delivery with their objectives. Provide clear updates and resolve issues promptly.

Do you have what it takes?

Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience in regulated industry, Proven track record of delivering a portfolio of projects, bids or proposals, Knowledge of pre and post-contract Project Management responsibilities, with the ability to deliver effectively to clients.



Desirable Skills






Radio Chemistry, Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering degree qualifications, Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, CIWM, RSC, RICS, ICE), Experience with and of NEC 3/4 contracting, NEC/APM/PRINCE Project Manager Accreditation.
