Big Sister Care is a pioneering co-ownership platform dedicated to transforming the UK's homecare landscape. We empower experienced Registered Managers to launch, grow, and lead their own CQC-registered care services, supported by our proven model and national infrastructure. Having already enabled over 500 providers, we are scaling rapidly and seeking dynamic, mission-driven individuals to join our central team.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent Master's graduate who is passionate about writing, research, and public service. You'll take on a crucial role in creating engaging, high-quality responses to tenders from local authorities and the NHS, assisting our partners in securing contracts to deliver essential social care services.
Your responsibilities will grow as you gain experience. At first, you'll assist with the tendering process by contributing to specific sections, gathering relevant information, and familiarising yourself with commissioning terminology. With comprehensive support and a structured training plan, you will develop into an independent bid writer, overseeing complete submissions from start to finish.
This position suits someone who excels in a dynamic, deadline-oriented environment. You should be flexible, receptive to feedback, and dedicated to ongoing learning. Each day offers something new, and we appreciate enthusiasm, curiosity, and initiative as much as experience.
Key Responsibilities
Draft clear, structured, and persuasive content for public sector tenders and funding applications.
Review and interpret procurement documents, aligning responses with evaluation criteria.
Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders to gather key facts, service information, and supporting evidence.
Assist in the development and maintenance of our bid library and knowledge bank.
Support senior writers during live tender projects and gradually lead on entire bids.
Attend team meetings, internal reviews, and client briefings.
Apply editorial rigour and quality assurance to written content.
Meet hard deadlines confidently and consistently.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with confidence in liaising with clients and internal teams.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and time management.
A proactive, 'can do' attitude and a willingness to roll your sleeves up across varied tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Desirable:
Awareness of UK public sector procurement processes.
Prior experience in technical writing, academic research, or content creation.
Familiarity with CRM or bid management tools.

Guided tender project contributions
Practical workshops on procurement language and formatting

Support to transition into independent bid writing within 6-12 months
Self-directed learning and the ability to take initiative are highly encouraged. You will be supported, but you will also be expected to take ownership of your development.
