to join our busy legal finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of client invoices, working closely with legal teams and accounts staff. This role is essential in supporting the firm's financial operations and maintaining positive client relationships through efficient billing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and process client bills in line with solicitor instructions and firm policies.
Liaise with solicitors and legal secretaries to gather required billing information and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines, including e-billing requirements where applicable.
Monitor unbilled time and disbursements; generate billing reports for review.
Process credit notes, write-offs, and billing adjustments as authorised.
Respond to billing-related queries from internal departments and clients promptly.
Maintain accurate billing records and update client billing instructions as needed.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks.
Experience in Family Law billing.
Experience in Crown Court billing.
Requirements
Essential:
Previous experience in a billing or finance support role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Ability to prioritise tasks and work to strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
