Overview

:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator to support our finance operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, processing payments, and ensuring smooth financial workflows across the business. The ideal candidate is organised, reliable, and comfortable working with numbers in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Bookkeeping & Financial Record Management



Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system. Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Invoice & Payment Processing



Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals. Prepare and execute weekly or monthly payment runs. Issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments when required. Ensure all transactions are coded correctly and compliant with internal controls.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable



Monitor credit and debit balances across all accounts. Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payment of vendor invoices. Manage accounts receivable, including monitoring overdue accounts and escalating when necessary.

Financial Administration



Maintain organised digital records of invoices, receipts, and financial documents. Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve queries. Support auditors or external accountants with documentation and data requests.

Required Skills & Experience



Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounts administration. Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes. Proficiency with learning new accounting software High attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.

Preferred Qualifications



AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping certification. Experience within construction or kitchen industries. Familiarity with UK VAT / CIS tax procedures.
