About the Role
As Bookkeeper & Accounts Assistant (New Business Team), you will work closely with our Finance Manager, taking on new client accounts during their first months with us. You'll often dive into messy records, large reconciliations, and unclear processes, bringing structure and clarity to our clients' finances.
Your goal will be to fix, set up, and streamline each client's finance function before handing them over to our ongoing support team, ready for success.
You'll typically manage 3-6 client accounts at a time, requiring excellent juggling skills, initiative, and confidence to seek out and solve problems. This role is ideal if you enjoy variety, challenge, and helping clients get on track in their early days with Moneypad.
Key Responsibilities
Perform large, complex bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Deep-dive into data to understand client priorities and processes
Create and improve financial systems for new clients
Prepare VAT and CIS returns
Manage sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and expense processing
Process supplier and sales invoices
Prepare and post journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, adjustments)
Assist with payroll and directors' payments when needed
Support the Finance Manager with month-end reporting for new clients
Communicate clearly with clients to gather data and explain processes
