Are you highly organised and confident working with numbers? We're looking for a
Bookkeeper
to support our Accountant/Responsible Finance Officer in maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with the day-to-day financial management of the Town Council.
Key Responsibilities:
To support the day-to-day function of the accounts department.
Issuing and recording of Purchase Orders.
Ensuring all invoices received are input into the financial system.
Daily processing of all bank transactions and transfers into SAGE and regularly reconciling all bank accounts.
Managing the WorldPay account and ensuring all amounts received are reconciled and recorded in the financial accounts.
Management of aged creditors list and ensure all amounts owed are paid in a timely manner. Setting up payments list.
To issue invoices on behalf of the Council for goods and services provided by the Council, and to ensure that payment is received.
Dealing with accounts queries.
To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time commensurate with the level of the post.
What We're Looking For:
Excellent IT skills and familiarity with the Sage 50 Accounting System & Microsoft Excel is essential.
Qualification in accountancy e.g. AAT bookkeeping or working towards CCAB/CIMA or qualified by experience.
Experience within a similar role.
Methodical and thorough approach to tasks.
Proactive with ability to work both on their own and within a team.
Ability to work on own initiative and anticipate problems and solve them.
