Responsibilities



Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks. Perform general ledger accounting and ensure all entries adhere to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts regularly to ensure accuracy. Prepare journal entries for various transactions including debits & credits, payroll, and tax-related entries. Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to verify data integrity across financial statements. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently to support cash flow management. Assist with budgeting activities by providing relevant financial data and insights. Support governmental accounting requirements and prepare financial reports as needed for compliance purposes. Handle payroll processing accurately using appropriate payroll software and maintain related records. Perform 10-key typing tasks swiftly for data entry purposes while maintaining high accuracy levels. Conduct periodic bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure all financial information is precise and up-to-date. Write clear and comprehensive financial reports that communicate key insights for management decision-making.

Requirements



Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with familiarity in corporate or non-profit accounting environments. Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar tools; experience with governmental accounting is a plus. Solid understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management. Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting practices necessary for accurate financial reporting. Experience with bank reconciliation processes, accounts payable/receivable management, payroll processing, and tax preparation. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and general ledger reconciliation accurately under tight deadlines. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills for preparing detailed financial reports and collaborating with team members. High level of integrity and attention to detail; commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
