Overview


We are a well-established and growing steel fabricator based in Newton Longville seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled finance professional to become an integral part of a supportive firm. This is a varied, hands-on position with the successful candidate working closely with the head of finance, the sales and operational teams to support the daily operations and growth of the business.

Job Responsbilities:



With a primary focus on supporting the business function, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Processing payments, invoices, income, bills, and receipts using accounting software Xero. Preparing weekly, monthly and ad-hoc financial reports (e.g. age debtors/creditors, payment applications, bank reconciliations, supplier statement reconciliations and customer statements. ) Assisting with Completing VAT returns in accordance with HMRC deadlines Supporting year-end accounts preparation and liaising with the year-end team Handling payroll, processing timesheets, holidays and workplace pension requirements and assisting with basic HR and compliance queries including CIS returns and statements/certificates. Maintaining organised digital and physical filing systems for company documentation Providing financial insights to aid director level decision-making Assisting with general office administration and phone cover during busy periods

Key Skills & Experience:



Minimum of 2 years' bookkeeping experience Sound knowledge of accounting principles and UK financial regulations Proficiency with Xero and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) Strong organisational and time management skills Excellent attention to detail and analytical capabilities Effective communicator with a professional, client-focused approach Ability to work independently and take initiative A full UK driving licence

Remuneration Package

(Subject to Candidate Experience)

Full-Time Position

- 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

Salary

- 28,000 - 32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
