UHY Hacker Young, chartered accountants in Sheffield are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our firm.


The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records for the firm's clients and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.


This could be a full or part time position with hybrid working arrangements available where sought.


Main duties of the role:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of clients, including processing invoices, receipts and payments Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC deadlines, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations. Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information, answer queries, and provide advice on VAT-related matters. Use of a variety of software, predominantly Xero, but also Sage and Quickbooks.
