Reporting to the General Manager, the bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining financial control and the accuracy of the Golf Club accounts.
Work pattern:
Permanent role - expected working hours are 9am - 3pm, but can be flexible.
24 - 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
In-Office.
Pay:
13.50 -15 per hour or by negotiation.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Ledger
Raising and sending sales invoices and credit notes to customers via email.
Dealing with client invoice queries.
Reporting weekly age receivables.
Credit control duties.
Purchase Ledger
Gaining approval of purchase invoices from the relevant department.
Matching, posting and batch entering purchase invoices.
Reconcile member card balances from the Club's internal database to the Club's accounting software.
Dealing with supplier queries.
General Finance
Creating customer and supplier accounts and maintaining accurate records.
Working with the Finance Committee to submit quarterly VAT returns.
Liaising with the external payroll provider with all necessary salary preparation detail and collating payroll records to enable payments to be distributed.
Processing supplier & salary payments on a monthly basis, including journal preparation and posting.
Reporting and investigating any discrepancies with card or cash reconciliation
Bank reconciliation.
To work with each department head to report and explain monthly budget variances.
To work with the Finance Director and department heads to help prepare annual budget.
To occasionally assist with the general administrative duties required to ensure the efficient. running of the office, i.e., answering telephones and e-mails, meeting and greeting members, guests and visitors.
Key Skills:
The candidate should be a part qualified accounts assistant or qualified by experience.
Prior experience using Xero Accounts (or similar system) essential.
Good skill and understanding of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated with positive attitude, working individually and as a team.
Ability to learn new software programs but particularly the use of Intelligent Golf (the Club's internal database), which is the leading UK golf operating system. Initial training will be offered.
Excellent telephone manner, demonstrating a high level of professionalism when dealing with clients.
