Role Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Bookkeeper to work on a diverse client portfolio, ensuring timely bookkeeping, monthly reporting, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and more. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping within the UK, looking for a flexible and technologically forward work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on a diverse client portfolio across various sectors.
Conduct general bookkeeping, monthly management accounts production, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and submit VAT returns, handling any related queries with HMRC.
Maintain purchase and sales ledgers.
Utilise accounting software such as Xero, Dext, QuickBooks Online, and Sage One for data entry.
Liaise with clients, providing training to junior staff and clients on bookkeeping practices.
Engage in ad-hoc tasks as needed, maintaining flexibility to accommodate a variety of roles.
Reporting to Company Director and Office Manager.
Professional Development:
All employees have access to online CPD (Continued Professional Development) training.
Encouraged to complete 30 minutes of CPD per week, within working hours, to foster continuous growth and learning.
Technology & Team Collaboration:
Utilise a virtual Windows desktop (full training provided), ensuring both remote and in-office employees have full access to software, client folders, and records.
Participate in daily and weekly team meetings for status updates, query resolutions, and fostering a strong team environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
3+ years' experience in a UK-based accountancy practice as a Bookkeeper/Senior Accounts Assistant.
Qualified By Experience (QBE) candidates are encouraged alongside those with formal accounting or bookkeeping qualifications.
Essential working knowledge of Xero.
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
Enthusiastic team player, capable of working independently.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence in conducting training and client consultations via Zoom or in person.
