We are seeking a highly organised Bookkeeper/Financial Controller to join our team. The role is working within our Bearsted office 5 days a week Monday - Friday 9am -3pm. Experience with Sage and Excel is essential to carry out the role.
Responsibilities
Submit VAT and Tax returns to HMRC.
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and payments.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist in budget preparation.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Utilise accounting software Sage & Excel for efficient record-keeping.
Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information as required.
Paying landlords and tradesmen linked to our lettings department on a daily basis.
Ensure anti money laundering and client protection policies are kept up to date.
Collating hours and preparing hours for staff wages.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, experience of submitting Tax and VAT returns.
Polite, presentable and hard working member of a team.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage and Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
A relevant qualification in accounting or finance is preferred but not essential.
Collect and submit year-end Tax information to our accountant.
