The Role
We are looking for askilled Brake Press Operatorto join our growing team. You will be responsible for operating manual press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form metal components to precise specifications.
This role is crucial in ensuring that every product meets quality standards while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations. You will play a key part in our production process and work closely with the wider workshop and production team.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual press brake machines to form metal sheets and components.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate parts.
Measure and inspect finished components to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Adjust tooling, dies, and machine settings to achieve the desired output.
Maintain, clean, and monitor equipment to ensure ongoing performance.
Follow health and safety protocols and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
Support other workshop tasks as required.
About You
Essential Skills and Experience:
Previous experience as a Brake Press Operator or similar role in metal fabrication.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Proven proficiency in manual press brake operation and associated tools.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations.
Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Desirable:
Forklift licence.
NVQ or other relevant qualifications in metal fabrication or mechanical engineering.
Working Hours
Full-time, 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday.
Core working hours fall between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with flexibility required based on workloads and client needs.
Additional hours may occasionally be required, with either payment or time off in lieu provided at the company's discretion.
