Brand Designer

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

The Opportunity

This is a standout opportunity to help shape a brand from the ground up and play a defining role in building a high-growth, scalable concept in the healthy fast-casual space. You'll be working directly with passionate founders who have a clear vision and long-term ambition to create a category-leading brand with real identity, purpose, and expansion potential.

If you want to bring a brand to life from its earliest stages -- visually, verbally, and experientially -- and contribute to something designed for scale, this role offers the rare chance to make your mark and help define a concept with the power to grow into a major brand.

Job Overview

We are seeking a

Brand Designer

to lead, develop, and refine the visual identity and brand system for a new, scalable concept in the healthy fast-casual sector.

The role involves creating a cohesive brand world -- from core identity and visual language to packaging, signage, digital presence, in-store touchpoints, and launch assets. You'll collaborate closely with the founders, interior designers, and operational teams to ensure the brand feels unified, commercially strong, and ready to expand.

This is a hands-on, creative, strategy-led role for a designer who understands both storytelling and scalability.

Phase 1 -- Brand Foundations & Research

Conduct market and competitor audits across the healthy fast-casual category. Develop and refine the brand's visual positioning, tone of voice, and customer experience principles. Translate the brand strategy into early concept directions and identity routes. Collaborate with founders on defining the mood, personality, and creative north star. Provide recommendations on naming, messaging, and brand architecture (if needed).

Phase 2 -- Visual Identity Development

Create 2-3 exploratory identity concepts including logos, colour palettes, typography, and graphic systems. Develop a holistic visual language suitable for a scalable, multi-site concept. Build brand system elements such as icons, patterns, illustration styles, or photography direction. Collaborate with interior designers to ensure brand visuals integrate seamlessly into spatial design. Develop packaging concepts (labels, stickers, containers) aligned with operational and sustainability needs.

Phase 3 -- Brand Rollout & Pre-Opening Assets

Finalise the full brand identity and produce a comprehensive brand guidelines document. Design launch assets including menus, in-store signage, window vinyls, uniforms, social templates, and digital assets. Support website design direction or wireframes (in collaboration with digital partners, if applicable). Provide artwork-ready files for print, production, and fabrication. Assist with brand presence during pre-opening and early promotional activity.

General Responsibilities

Attend scheduled meetings and brand development sessions (1-2 per week). Work collaboratively with founders and the chef, interior, and operations teams. Deliver organised, production-ready files and clear documentation. Work within agreed development milestones and timelines. Ensure consistency across all touchpoints and prepare the brand for multi-location scalability.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Brand Designer, Graphic Designer, or Visual Identity Designer. Strong portfolio showing brand identity work, ideally for hospitality, food & beverage, retail, or lifestyle brands. Experience designing for both digital and physical applications (packaging, signage, menus, etc.). Ability to develop scalable design systems suitable for franchising or multi-site rollouts. Knowledge of production, print processes, and file preparation. Strong understanding of brand strategy, storytelling, and consumer experience. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Must be available for occasional on-site sessions in London.

Soft Skills

Creative thinker with commercial awareness. Clear communicator comfortable presenting design directions. Highly organised, with strong time-management skills. Collaborative and open to iterative development. Proactive problem solver with a positive attitude. Passion for food, wellness, and hospitality is a plus.
