Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hard-working, friendly and efficient person to join our small team at our 11-room boutique hotel in Summertown, Oxford, working 5 days a week 7.30am -11.30am, including some weekends. The position is mainly for breakfast preparation and cleaning/tidying up afterwards and also ideally helping with room cleans, as needed. The successful candidate will be well-organised and able to efficiently prepare breakfast for guests single-handedly (mainly setting out cold food items and cooking some basic hot food - i.e. scrambled egg, sausages etc), have good attention to detail, enjoy interacting with guests and take pride in ensuring that breakfast and rooms are offered to the highest standards. This position requires a strong work ethic, reliability and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and the highest standards of food preparation, cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene.

Duties

Prepare and present breakfast for guests and clean and tidy kitchen and breakfast room afterwards Interact with guests at breakfast time, ensuring guests feel well looked-after Where needed, also perform efficient and thorough cleaning of guest rooms and bathrooms, common areas, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linen Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment Provide excellent customer service by responding to guest requests courteously and efficiently

Requirements

Previous food preparation experience and ideally also housekeeping experience, in the hospitality sector Ideally already have Food Hygiene Certificate, Level 2 minimum Must be able to work some weekends Must be reliable and be able to work on own initiative Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and checklists carefully and correctly Excellent time management skills, able to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team A positive attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding service You must already have Right to Work in the UK or be a British citizen You must have fluent English You must be able to reliably arrive to start work in Oxford at 7.30am
