About the Role

Do you care about your community and want to help make a visible difference every day? We're looking for a proactive and approachable BID Ranger to support the safety, cleanliness, and vibrancy of Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone.

As a BID Ranger, you'll be the eyes and ears on the street--working closely with businesses, the public, and partner organisations to tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour (ASB), environmental concerns, and community safety. Your presence will help build trust, improve perceptions of safety, and support a positive environment for all who live, work, and visit.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a friendly, visible ambassador for the BID within the town centre or business district. Engage with local businesses daily to understand concerns, provide support, and gather intelligence on local issues. Proactively identify and report instances of anti-social behaviour, working alongside local police, council teams, and community safety partners. Help deter low-level crime, street drinking, and other nuisance behaviour through a consistent, reassuring presence. Monitor and report environmental issues (e.g., graffiti, fly-tipping, vandalism). Support delivery of BID events, promotional campaigns, and street activation initiatives. Maintain accurate logs of incidents and interactions to support BID reporting and partnerships. Foster a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, shoppers, and visitors.
