Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sewing and a keen eye for detail, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and specialist in bridal wear. As a Seamstress, you will play a crucial role in the creation and alteration of wedding gowns, bridesmaids and evening wear, contributing to our commitment to excellence in our in house design team. Full time and part time vacancies available. Freelance and in house contracts can be discussed.

Responsibilities

Meeting with brides in store and discussing alterations and adjustments of our products. Sewing at a high standard and reasonable speed. Use industrial sewing machine to carry out alterations and work. Have great hand sewing abilities and finishing skills. For example beading, sewing down lace, chain stitching and appliques etc. Have a warm and friendly manner when dealing with brides and the bridal party to make them feel comfortable and support them. Have great time management skills. Steaming gowns and checking quality meets our standards. Looking after equipment and ordering items when needed Manage own diary to complete work in time and organisational skills essential Training can be given to assist in the manufacturing and making if veils etc

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Seamstress or in a similar role is preferred. Proficient in using various sewing machines and hand sewing techniques. Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good communication skills to understand client needs effectively. Knowledge of fabric types, patterns, and garment construction is advantageous. A creative mindset with the ability to troubleshoot issues that arise during the sewing process. 5 year sewing skills essential 5 years bridal experience desirable
