What's the role?
As a Business Analyst in our Digital Services team, you'll be the bridge between ideas and implementation. You'll work with stakeholders across the Council to understand their needs, analyse data, map processes, and design digital solutions that improve services for residents and staff.
You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that includes project managers, change managers, technical specialist and operational staff. Together, you'll deliver real changewhether it's automating a manual process, introducing AI tools, or helping a service team rethink how they work.
What will you do?
Lead business analysis for digital transformation projects.
Gather and define business and user requirements.
Map current and future processes, user journeys, and workflows.
Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and identify trends.
Develop business cases and investment appraisals.
Champion innovationthink AI, RPA, and Microsoft 365 tools.
Facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Shape and hand over well-defined projects to delivery teams.
What do you need?
Essential:
Experience as a Business Analyst and User Researcher.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to gather, write, and prioritise business/user requirements to tight timelines.
Experience with process mapping, user journeys, and wireframes.
Analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving.
Understanding of digital transformation in complex organisations.
Confidence to lead discussions, influence decisions, and deliver results.
Desirable:
Experience in local government or large service organisations.
Familiarity with Agile, Prince2, or Scrum methodologies.
Business Analysis certifications (e.g. CBAP, CCBA).
Experience with MS Project, Visio, or similar tools.
