Hybrid - The successful candidate is required to be based from our Livingston, Scotland office two days per week.



Overview:



A Business Analyst is a critical role responsible for eliciting, analysing, and validating the business needs of stakeholders, ensuring effective communication between customers or end-users and project teams. This position involves collaborating with project sponsors, conducting comprehensive requirements analysis, and facilitating the translation of conceptual customer requirements into functional specifications.



Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Elicitation and Analysis:



Conduct interviews and workshops to gather customer requirements using various methods such as questionnaires, surveys, site visits, and use cases. Clearly identify project stakeholders, establish customer classes, and define their characteristics.

Project Scope and Vision:



Collaborate with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision. Define scope and parameters of requirements analysis to establish project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.

Requirements Prioritisation:



Work with stakeholders and project teams to prioritize collected requirements. Analyse and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.

Research and Documentation:



Research, review, and analyse the effectiveness of existing requirements-gathering processes. Develop strategies for enhancing or leveraging these processes.

QA and Solution Support:



Participate in the QA of purchased solutions to ensure features and functions are enabled and optimised. Assist in the selection of requirements documentation software solutions.

Requirements Communication:



Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional specifications that are comprehensible to developers and the project team. Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Documentation and Process Models:



Develop and utilise standard templates for writing accurate and concise requirements specifications. Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and the project team.

Peer Reviews and Guidance:



Develop and conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure accurate interpretation. Provide guidance and instruction to junior staff members.

Status Tracking and Management:



Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Enforce and redefine requirements as necessary.

Qualifications / Skills:



Ability to exercise independent judgment and take action. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in conducting interviews, workshops, and requirements analysis. Familiarity with requirements documentation software solutions. Knowledge of QA processes and the ability to ensure solution optimization. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.

Certifications (Desirable):



Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or other relevant certifications in business analysis.
