Purpose of the Role



We are seeking a Business Analyst to support strategic decision-making across the HVAC distribution business by analysing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights into sales, inventory, operations, customer behaviour, and supplier performance. The Business Analyst will work closely with senior leadership to drive efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities



Analyse sales, margin, and inventory data across HVAC product categories to identify performance trends and opportunities.

Work with commercial and operations teams to support pricing, stock planning, and procurement decisions.

Develop dashboards, reports, and forecasting models to provide insights to senior stakeholders.

Evaluate supplier performance and product profitability across distribution channels.

Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements in the end-to-end supply chain and order fulfilment cycle.

Collaborate with finance, logistics, procurement, and sales teams to ensure data alignment and business continuity.

Support the rollout of new systems or digital tools, ensuring accurate data migration and usability.

Monitor customer purchasing trends, returns, and service levels to support customer experience initiatives.

Assist in strategic planning, budgeting, and business case development for new products or service models.

Translate business needs into functional requirements for software or system improvements (e.g., ERP/CRM platforms).

Skills and Competencies



Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights

Advanced Excel and Power BI (or equivalent data visualisation tools)

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and CRM platforms

Understanding of distribution, stock management, and margin analysis in an HVAC or B2B environment

Commercial acumen and a understanding of the HVAC market and product landscape

High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing change

Qualifications and Experience



Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field

3+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst, preferably in distribution, wholesale, or HVAC industry

Experience working in a B2B environment with trade customers and supplier networks

Familiarity with HVAC product ranges, seasonal demand patterns, and logistics is a strong advantage

Experience in project support or business process improvement initiatives desirable

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Accuracy and timeliness of reports and insights

Impact of recommendations on sales growth or margin improvement

Contribution to inventory optimisation and stock turn performance

User satisfaction with dashboards and reporting tools

Delivery of projects on time and within scope
