Business Applications Analyst

to come and join our team at

Ibstock Head office, LE67 6HS

Job purpose

The business applications analyst is responsible for both maintaining applications in the BAU environment and delivering applications projects from capturing requirements, through developing a solution and then rolling out. Equally important is constantly improving our service delivery performance, ensuring our user base values interactions with our team This role encompasses the configuration, customization (via 3rd party), upgrade and housekeeping of the JDE system and requires good specialist knowledge of one or more modules, it is helpful if you can also turn your hand to other applications such as CRM The incumbent will collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, IT, operations and other departments to drive system enhancements, ensure data accuracy, support, upgrades and and lead innovation in our use of the JDE system and other related applications

Key Accountabilities

Deliver outstanding service related to apps team incidents and service requests Capture business requirements and be able to playback in the form of a solution design to obtain sponsorship and buy-in for projects Be able to configure one or more JDE modules to expert level Confident to design and deliver solutions across multiple JDE modules seeking input and advice from colleagues or 3rd parties where necessary Bring rigour to both the SIT and UAT testing rounds, ensuring the quality and reliability of the JDE system Experienced in creating functional specification documents which contain sufficient detail to enable configuration or development of solutions without ambiguity Empower end-users to take ownership of processes through training Take pride in the delivery of projects and related documentation within scope, time and budgetary constraints. Feedback status including highlighting of risks or issues in a timely manner to allow for change when needed Contribute to in-house knowledge sharing and cross-functional training Devise innovative solutions that avoid system modification where possible and are easy to use for our colleague community

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

In-depth knowledge of at least one JDE module is essential with lighter knowledge of interoperability, EDI or other modules of JDE advantageous Great interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written Efficient and accurate data management with exceptional attention to detail Comfortable working with all levels of business stakeholders to ensure expectations are managed realistically and sensitively Self-motivation and ability to work at pace and to prioritise a varied workload Confidence to highlight and raise both problems and solutions for exploration Sense of urgency and pride in ownership, coupled with a 'can do' attitude Passionate, flexible and committed approach to projects (completer finisher) Ability to plan, minute and and follow up on meetings using a risk, issue, actions and decisions log

Desirable:

Understanding of both waterfall, agile and ITIL principles Experience of working on legacy and / or highly modified JDE environments Knowledge of output generators for JDE like BI Publisher or Transform Desire to cross-train on other systems
