Business Applications Architect

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Job Description

Business Applications Architect required for a rapidly growing Data and Software organisation, based in Edinburgh.

The Company:

They have been in business for over 50 years and are at the forefront of data and analytics. Based in Edinburgh, they are expanding a number of parts of their technology teams, but with a particular focus on standing up and adding in a number of new business applications.

They have many strong and long-term relationships with their customers and are very well positioned in the marketplace. Their new focus is in the renewables sector and this is obviously a very topical market. For this role, they are ideally looking for people to be based in and around the Edinburgh or Glasgow area - with it ideal if you can get into the office 2 days a week. They do also have offices in Glasgow, so this could potentially be looked at.

The role:

This position had been born out of a brand-new team, which has been created in order to integrate a number of new applications into the business, on a global scale. The business is going through a huge change and are effectively changing their infrastructure and software landscape. They currently operate across Salesforce and Oracle Cloud, but they are now bringing in the likes of Workday and MuleSoft - no small task!

You will be an Architect with some technical nous, but this is not an overly technical role. You will not be a Developer, but will be able to understand the tool and create solutions. The tech environment will include but not limited to: Salesforce, Workday, MuleSoft, ServiceNow, Oracle ERP; it is a largescale and hugely technical environment, with less red tape than a bank, for example. In saying this however, you will still need to help integrate governance across the business.

Key Skills and Experience:

** Strong business and applications Architecture experience across ERP and CRM environment

** Similar ERP and CRM knowledge in systems similar to: Workday, Salesforce, Oracle Cloud Fusion, MuleSoft, ServiceNow, SAP Concur

** Knowledge of API integrations across multiple cloud and on-premise applications (SaaS knowledge too)

** Ability to participate in a Technical Design Authority to assess and quantify the risks associated with design decisions and communicate these to the business

** Ideally having worked for a global product or software/data business (not necessary)

This is an opportunity to not only join a growing team, but a technology company who invest heavily in both their staff and technology as a whole. They treat their employees very well, as well as excellent benefits (10% bonus, private healthcare, 8% non-contributary pension scheme, 35 hour working week etc).
