On behalf of the CPS, we are looking for a Business Change Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract. This is a hybrid working role (flexibility required for travel to London on an ad-hoc basis).



The CPS prosecutes criminal cases that have been investigated by the police and other investigative organisations in England and Wales. The CPS is independent, and they make their decisions independently of the police and government.



Their duty is to make sure that the right person is prosecuted for the right offence, and to bring offenders to justice wherever possible.

Job Purpose:



The purpose of this role is to assist with the implementation and delivery of CPS and Criminal Justice System change initiatives through the application of effective project management methodologies, working with colleagues from across the business. The post holder will seek out business improvement opportunities, identify and share good practice and develop robust working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.



The Project Manager will be providing support to our operational business in delivering new processes and systems and structures to implement and sustain new ways of working. The post-holder will develop solutions, in conjunction with the Area/Division, to any barriers or difficulties they are facing. They will be expected to provide support to and guide Areas/Divisions in delivering digital working in conjunction with the Operational Process Development Unit (OPDU) and the Digital Directorate, and to assess whether the benefits of change have been realised.



They will be expected to engage with senior and local managers and staff in relation to the planning and delivery of all major change initiatives and to provide any support required and to escalate risks and issues accordingly. In addition, they will develop relationships with key colleagues within HQ including (but not limited to) those in the People Function, Chief Finance Officer Directorate, Strategy and Policy Directorate (SPD), Director of Legal Services (DLS), Central Legal Training Team (CLTT) and Central Operational Training Team (COTT) to ensure project and change dependencies can be managed effectively.



As a Business Change Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:



Leads projects to ensure development, delivery and deployment meet with business requirements at the direction of the Head of Change Establishes credibility and earns respect through practical application of product knowledge and proven project management skills and tools. Ensures the delivery of projects on time, to budget and quality which meet business need utilising bespoke project management methodologies. Part of the team that produces monthly progress reports on the achievement or otherwise of programme and project plans. And where performance against plans is not on trajectory, the postholder suggest and delivers successful mitigation to put matters on track. Influences and negotiates with, internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a joined-up approach. They will then use this stakeholder feedback to deliver effective change to and on behalf of the business, whilst establishing and maintaining own position and corporate agenda. Works closely with the Change Manager and Head of Change to make decisions about the day-to-day management of programmes and projects and put forward options and recommendations to the relevant Deputy Director and/or Senior Responsible Officer. Delegates, supervises and manages inputs from project team members.
