The Salvation Army is the largest provider of social care in the UK after the government and has been providing support to people affected by issues including homelessness, unemployment, addiction, poverty and human trafficking for nearly 150 years. We work in over 650 communities across the UK and Ireland to provide support for the people who need it most.
We're contracted by over 50 commissioners to deliver a wide range of support services to vulnerable and marginalised people. With a portfolio of successful bids totalling up to 200m, the Business Development and Tendering Unit is at the forefront of driving our position as a leading provider of public services.
We are looking for an ambitious, motivated Business Development and Tendering Manager to oversee the end-to-end bid process, providing an excellent internal business development and proposal management support service to operational colleagues. This pivotal role will bring technical expertise and strategic understanding of the sector and will play a key role within the team. This role will predominantly be supporting our Employment Plus service and will therefore be focused on the employability sector.
You'll have:
Experience of managing complex, multi-million-pound tenders, and take a leading role in designing commercially sound, winning bids.
Experience within the employability sector would be advantageous but not essential.
An accomplished business development professional, with an entrepreneurial spirit, an ability to bring service models to life on the page and the communication skills to bring a multi-disciplinary bid team together.
In return we'll provide challenging and rewarding work, a flexible and self-managing environment, and the opportunity to have an influential role in shaping the direction of one of the UK's biggest charities.
