We are seeking a bilingual, internationally experienced Business Development Executive to join our UK-based online publishing company. This role is focused on driving new growth channels in China and North America, introducing our publishing and branding services to overseas businesses aiming to expand their presence in the UK and broader Western markets.
You will work closely with the Director to identify strategic opportunities, engage with international stakeholders, and build strong commercial relationships during this pivotal early stage of our international expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement business development strategies targeting Chinese and North American clients.
Identify potential B2B partners and initiate high-level introductory conversations.
Prepare, localise, and deliver compelling sales materials and presentations in both Chinese and English.
Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis across target regions.
Manage and nurture relationships with overseas clients and publisher partners, ensuring culturally sensitive and professional communication.
Support client brand development strategies targeting UK and European markets.
Maintain accurate records of outreach, negotiations, and client interactions.
Translate commercial materials and support bilingual communication as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or client relationship management.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in International Business is required; a Master's degree (MBA or related) from a recognised international university is highly desirable.
Previous work experience in the United States is required.
Proven experience in cross-border business development involving China and North America.
In-depth understanding of UK and US business etiquette and communication styles.
Native or professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (both written and spoken).
Strong interpersonal skills with high cultural intelligence.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a start-up or entrepreneurial environment.
Familiarity with branding, marketing, or publishing services is a plus.
