BDC Aluminium is seeking a driven and organised Business Development Executive to join our growing team in Witham.
You will play a key role in supporting our sales function, qualifying leads, securing new business, and onboarding new customers as part of our wider customer experience strategy. Communicating with new and existing customers on a regular basis, you will protect our highly respected reputation by demonstrating our values and representing our business positively.
Due to the nature of this role, there will be an element of cold calling involved when following up leads and re-engaging with old customers. It is essential that you are comfortable working in this environment.?
Key Responsibilities
Responding to sales related enquiries both verbally and electronically externally and working closely with our internal customer experience teams.
Contacting customers to follow up on quotes and offer support with any queries they may have at that stage to develop the lead into an order.
Booking sales leads onto our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Checking enquiries to ensure that the potentially sale is in line with company criteria and then making contact to; qualify prospects, explain the process of opening an account, help with questions or seek to find the answers, trigger the pre-onboarding email journey
Working alongside the wider business development / sales team to create a bespoke induction for new customers
Providing ongoing support customers in their first 12 months to ensure that the journey with BDC is seamless ad that customers are aware of new points of contact for queries as they become an established partner
Updating the company CRM system and logging customer/ prospect related activities
Providing support to the sales / customer experience function as required.
Producing reports and analysis on new / potential business generated
Following up on marketing campaigns and proactively communicating key business information using a data driven approach, such as discontinued & new products amends
Establishing a network of industry specific connections via social media to develop company brand awareness
Liaising with all appropriate departments to ensure commercial paperwork is handled in accordance with set procedures
What You Bring
Knowledge of the door and window industry (fenestration) in particular SMARTS Aluminium would be advantageous. Experience within the wider construction product industry is also advantageous
Exposure to a sales environment would be beneficial but is not essential
A confident and professional telephone manner
Ability to learn quickly, to enable strong product knowledge and ability to promote our services to new customers
Strong communication skills and comfortable with cold calling
Strong organisational skills
Flexibility and willingness to support the wider team when required
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Self-motivation with strong communication and relationship building skills
A natural networker, you will be confident when speaking with new people
Salary, Hours, and Benefits
Starting salary up to 35,000 per annum dependent on experience
Monday to Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm, Friday 8:00am-3:30pm
