Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Business Development Manager to spearhead our growth initiatives and drive revenue generation. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and implementing effective sales strategies. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential threats. Analyse competitor activities and market dynamics to stay ahead of industry developments.
Business Planning and Strategy:
Develop and implement business development strategies that align with the company's objectives. Create comprehensive business plans outlining short-term and long-term growth initiatives.
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
Identify and qualify new business opportunities through targeted lead generation and prospecting activities. Collaborate with the Commercial Director to create campaigns that attract potential clients and partners.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry influencers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless transition from business development to client onboarding.
Sales and Revenue Generation:
Meet and exceed sales targets through effective negotiation, persuasion, and closing techniques. Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective clients.
Contract Negotiation:
Negotiate and finalize business agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for all parties involved. Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress, and results. Utilise data analytics to identify areas for improvement and optimise strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of the logistics market and trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
Clean current and full UK driving licence.
