The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and profitability of North West Recycling. This position focuses on identifying and securing new logo business opportunities while nurturing long-term relationships with allocated key accounts. Through a combination of proactive sales efforts, strategic account management, and close collaboration with operational teams, the BDM ensures exceptional service delivery, strengthens customer partnerships, and maximises commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Proactively identify, target, and win new new logo business across targeted sectors and geographic locations.
Develop bespoke waste management and recycling solutions aligned with customer needs and sustainability goals.
Create and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and tenders.
Negotiate and finalise contracts, ensuring alignment with company standards and profitability objectives.
Maintain a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools, with accurate forecasting and performance reporting.
Key Account Management
Manage and grow relationships with allocated existing key accounts to ensure high levels of satisfaction and service excellence.
Conduct regular account reviews to uncover opportunities for cross sales through innovation, improvement, and service expansion.
Serve as the primary commercial contact for key accounts, ensuring clear communication and swift resolution of issues.
Work closely with operations, customer engagement (internal sales), and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Market & Commercial Insight
Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes within the waste and recycling industry.
Provide insights and recommendations to support pricing strategies, service development, and marketing initiatives.
Represent North West Recycling at industry events, networking functions, and sustainability forums to enhance brand visibility.
Reporting & Performance
Consistently meet or exceed sales and profitability targets.
Produce regular reports detailing business development activity, pipeline status, and key account performance.
Ensure CRM records are accurate and up to date.
